~"A whirling cyclone of titanic blood-lust, the berserker sweeps across the battlefield leaving carnage and destruction in his wake, single-handedly bringing armies to their knees. Like a roaring inferno he consumes anything that stands in his way, friend or foe, deaf to pleas for mercy and blind to pain or physical harm."
The berserker blends DPS elements with the Tank class. A berserker's speed and intensity of movement allows for only light or medium-heavy armour to be worn in battle without restricting his abilities, but he makes up for this in weapon-mastery and sheer ferocity. Whilst in a berserk rage, the beserker can fight day and night without rest, facing innumerable odds without fear, but the toll on his body will be a costly one; once the rage wears off, the berserker must depend on his comrades to protect him. A berserker can deal out massive amounts of damage and also take incredible hits whilst in a rage, but after a rage he becomes extremely vulnerable to attack, and his speed and attack-power are decreased significantly. Berserkers, with their speed and strength, are strong against the slow, lumbering knights or the lightly armoured scholars, but their reckless abandon can be outwitted by a monk's superior technique, and their tremulous grip on sanity can be manipulated by a psych's illusions.
Admittedly so do I
Do you play DnD sometimes? (The original pen and paper version of course)
Short lived, but powerful. Must be fought with brains over brawn.
^^
Are you familiar with the concept of "berserkergang" as described by the Norse skalds?
